Jerry had a harvest day like in the good old days, provided fried chicken lunch, and then took the equipment to the field. WD45 Diesel pulling the big bin 66 combine in oats, did a real nice job, D17 Series IV pulling the grain wagon, WD45 with factory power steering pulling the Rake/Tedder, WD pulling the Roto Baler. Neighbor had his D15D Series II pulling an Athens 3 disc plow. Several neighbors stopped by to watch. This is the family farm he grew up on. Looks like the weather was perfect. I bet those little guys will remember that day for a long, long time. | it does look like it was a fun day!. I sure remember dad and me out harvesting wheat and oats together all the time with his 60 and 66 combines. which one did you run Michael? |

Michael, Thanks for posting these pictures!. Yes it reminds me of days helping the family harvest. We had the 45's and a 60 or 66 combine. Was a lot of hot, dusty work if I remember right. But good honest work, that made you sleep good at night! Yes good memories! Great pictures! | Thanks Mike for posting those pics. It reminded me of the WD and the 66 we had when I was younger. Yes, it was dusty and hot but I wasn't a college graduate so I didn't know any better. I really liked the tandem axles. I believe yours is the first I've seen since we quit farming. Made it a lot easier to get close to the ground if the beans were short, and not get a lot of dirt picked up. |

I love to see old iron working like it was made to be used. Jerry is one of my good friends and has let me do a lot of work on his family tractors. I love to see his WD45's looking so nice and he will still take them to the field. I missed being at this year's field work. ------------- 3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep. |

Remember grandpa combining wheat and oats with the 60. To make it so he could dump into a 150 bushel wagon we had to dig the tires down in a hole so the combine could reach. Then had to shovel it to the far side if the wagon to top it off. Then of course the C struggled to pull it out of the hole. So had to unhook the combine from he D17 to budge the wagon. Thought we died and went to heaven when my uncle bought a K ------------- 8030 and 8050MFWD, 7580, 3 6080's, 160, 7060, 175, heirloom D17, Deere 8760 |

Nice pics, thank you for sharing. Dad had a 66 and yes it was dusty for sure. Good ole days gone by. Wheat,barley, rye. We sold a lot of straw in those days to an ole fella that had a landscaping business. She was a dependable machine.
