Spent a lots of time trying to search on google and this site for info on starters for K and L crawlers and come up short on any info.
Not long ago I read about what starter would fit the K from another application, like an MM tractor, I think it was but... don't remember.
So, does anyone have the pertinent info for getting a starter that will fit?

Did some looking at crawler part numbers and found allis part numbers and starter numbers.

K A-C Part # AM-41186 crossed out and hand written in 211957 -
         Auto-Lite type ML4177

S A-C  Part # 031676
          Auto-Lite type EO-5129

L A-C Part # E-2592 prior to L-2260
         Auto-Lite type ML-4177  (prior # ML4123)
         part # EO-5129 after L-2260,
         Auto-Lite type EO-5129

LO A-C part # E-2592 prior to LO - 1874
          Auto-lite Type ML-4177
          part # 031676 above LO- 1874
          Auto-lite Type ML-4196 (was Type ML-4165)

Looks like model K and early L engines have the same starter, while the S and the later L having the same starter. So I am guessing the K, S, L and the A & E  (if the E had a starter) also have same starters...?
Any info on the starters would be appreciated. Thanks, JC

Ran across an old LA Case starter with smaller bore than the A-C K has. Looks like K has 4 1/4th inch hole, And the case has 3 5/8ths hole?
Got me to thinking, wonder if I can spin out an adapter to take up the space...
This starter has a 10 tooth bendix gear and near 1/2" point to point on the teeth..
and the starter is an Auto-lite,  ML 4929 7D Chuck some heavy wall tube in the lathe and ... think it will work?  The sleeve was what somebody put in the starter hole and now sitting over the Case's starter nose cone, you can see how much difference there is between the starte nose cone and the dust cover somebody had made and put in the hole...
