My old 7G has been frightful at managing to blow out hoses I intended to change at some future point, this one at least just began a slow spray.

Both Trans/Converter cooler hoses from the converter case to the engine mounted cooler and back are now history. Took them into the hydraulics shop I use regularly along with a damaged Eaton Cessna trans supply pump off my donor tractor. The crew there shuddered when saw the style of hose ends then reacted as if saw a ghost with the pump!! Hose ends(bolted flanged) are being salvaged by adding male JIC weld-ons to them(3 in total) where a conventional made up high heat hydraulic line will connect as the old style fittings no longer available. The pump is to be disassembled then inspected, lapped and resealed along with a new end plate mounting flange then tested for flow and returned. They said will be less than half the cost of a replacement pump which is also with the odd spline shaft near to impossible to find.

I can only hope so. One of the last major hydraulics repair shops for the area. Much as radiator shops they are getting ever more scarce.

So true - finding a shop that is not just a exchange for new stuff and can actually repair things is getting hard to find .
Had a shop I worked with for many years but now they moved , they did hydraulic  hoses as well as clutch , driveshaft , and transmission rebuilding for heavy truck and industrial but could also do lite duty and odd things like making up specialty hoses .

Nice honest people, if they cannot help for a situation or machine they will tell you up front. Rebuild pumps, cylinders, valve bodies.

Hoses and fittings should be here tomorrow or Friday, I will have to hand cut gaskets for the flanged heads, not a big deal.

New hoses back on, wish I would have added 4" to the forward line, at least no leaks.

The split flange crimp fittings are actually pretty common, especially in oil field equipment. I'm surprised the shop went to the trouble to make adapters.

The style is available not the size of the flange and instead of o-ring seal these are gasketed. The guy showed me the measurements in their catalog and the few they do stock, close but not replacement sized. These will do, simplifies replacements later as well.
