I have an 840 Allis Chalmers payloader with a perkins engine thinking it is a 4-236 but there are no numbers any where on the block. we can not order any parts without these numbers is what they are telling me. Some little punk put sawdust in the fuel tank and thinking he put dirt in the engine sent in an oil analysis and it came back excessive dirt in engine. it's an older machine but is in very good shape would like to be able to rebuild this engine instead of repowering it

It ticks me off every time some counter person tells me they can't sell parts unless you have all the numbers - it's like saying you want a pine tree air freshener - and the counter guy asks what year and model car your going to put it in -
