Back in 1988, my Dad hand built this old time wooden sled for me for a christmas present. It's middle board was painted a reddish-orange then. We (our 4 kids, their friends, plus my wife & I) all sledded many a hills & snow drifts with it. So, decades took their toll, kids grew up, & it became a rustic christmas decoration near our front door. It needed refinished.
To my surprise this morning as a Father's Day gift, my loving wife presented what you see below to me. She & her step-Dad, refinished it. My step-father in law sanded it, did some wood filler, & sealed it. My wife painted the orange board & did the AC logo by hand. Step-father in law did the lettering. He used to do door letter painting back in his high school years (late 1930s-1940s).

A little old lettering with the newer logo.

That's very nice and thoughtful. I never understood how those worked . Around here we have to use one that doesn't have those runners our snow must be different

Now ole Shameless will be chomping at the bit to fire up his snow machine, so you can try that out. It sure does look nice. Darrel

That is a neat sled. I wish I would of kept my first sled. Although it had steel runners I used it a lot sliding down the town road hills. My cousin had one like that, that his dad built.
