Got an old red 400 diesel here that don't want to stay running... Put in new filters and got showered while bleeding the final filter and tractor started running on diesel and ws gaining speed and then promptly died did that several times and finally it wouldn't even puff any smoke...
Opened the bleeders on the injectors and they spit some fuel but nothing great.
Took the side cover off and the governor arm seems to be stiff to move... Never had one of these injection pumps apart yet, Don't really want to take it off, but might have...
Got any thoughts on what the problem is? And possibly how to resolve the issue..

sounds like a fuel starvation issue to me. I got to where I don't try to work on these old gas start or RD IH pumps anymore. I send them out for rebuild. There's a lot of talk over on Red Power forum now though. I try to stay out of those discussions lol! But I do read them. Might learn something! lol!
I guess that is your thread over there lol!

Yes, that is my post... I tried searching through google and  didn't get much help, Tried searching REDPOWER site and it didn't want to co-operate, So... I thought I would post over there and get some valuable information that would help me get this figured out, But got only one reply so far and 163 views...
Decided maybe I would have a better chance asking you. LOL  Guess I am batting next to zero... about the usual score... Maybe thats what I gets for havin to many red things around that need werkin on... and should be spendin time on the orange ones... or (fer shameless's sake) on some greenie things...

I suppose if I ask you if you can rebuild a DEKO pump for me, you will prolly turn me down fer that too, Confused  right?  LOL LOL
  Thanks,

I would try Spencer Diesel out of Iowa, they have been very knowledgeable and helpful over the phone for me many times. It's either them or Ed I call when I have problems
