Have a 170 that keeps running hot on the gauge. Let it be known...recored radiator, new water pump, thermostat, gauge, and sender. Thermostat temps out at 160 +/-5. Block is 140 at front and 180 in rear respectively. All while running during work. Gauge kicks up pretty quick and stays mid red no matter what. Ohmed and replaced sender again with same results. ???

That is why I go to auto supply and buy a mechanical gauge.   MACK

Have you tried a new Radiator cap, my 190XT did the same thing and the cap was not holding pressure.

Block temp seems good. Is it pushing water out of the rad or any other symptoms?

New radiator cap. No coolant boil over. I think the gauge is too sensitive. Or...that is the hottest spot in the block at the rear. Maybe some blockage?

I'm going to run it again this afternoon. Never thought that that radiator cap may not be good even though it's new.

Does your fuel gauge work correctly. I'm having a similar issue with a 6080.
