I'm not exactly sure. I think the 80 is the cable lift and 82 is hyd lift

80s has the big frame underneath and takes a little effort to mount or dismiuntwhile the 82s has a cast piece that bolts to side of frame rail and can be hitched and unhitched in 10 minutes.

So if i understand correctly, all the twin wheel drive and gear box and sickle components are all the same ? Just the mounting is different?

For the most part yes. Other than the mounting hardware Allis added bearings to the pivot points on the gear box.

82S
And,  the box enclosing the gear box is made of heavier material
And,  the cut bar is made of much thcker material so it doesn't bend in the middle.
And,  this mower is fitted with it's own hydraulic ram which (when set up properly) will
lift the cut bar to 90 deg vertical.

The 82 twin wheel head is supported by roller bearings. The 80 is cast on cast with a grease fitting.

The 80 and 82 whole gearbox assemblies won't directly inter change, and the arms, cross arms etc won't interchange unless everything is used.
