I've been seriously considering buying an older firetruck, and pulling off or modifying the fire-bed to use as a tractor-hauler... anyone else done this?

remember when buying a fire truck, they are usually very low miles, but HIGH engine hours.  They sit a lot of hours running at full loads for the pumps.

I have to thank you for saving history.  They don't make these units anymore and everyone you save is important.
I agree - nice looking truck.  Wish we had that good a unit when we were selling them.
Great unit with a very long - I would think - tilt body.  Best we had was a 46 Ford and a 30 something chevy stake body trucks.  Good Trucks an we used them but not "state of the art" like yours.
Thanks again.
Good Luck!
