Do any of you have tips on removing the tracks on a m crawler?

Big hammer(10 lb) and beat the master pin out and your good to go. Works best to get master pin backed with the sprocket or idler. All kind of ways to make a punch holder so helper is out of harms way. If your working alone fab a way bolt a pipe to hold punch,and it bolted to track shoe.

I used a cold rolled drift in a piece of pipe welded to the backside of my track shoes, could have made a clamp fixture with the shoes removed to hang it on the chain link then wail away with a Big Hammer. I have a 20# but it gives as much beating as delivers.

x2 on the pipe. i use a section large enough to go around master pin and buck track link with it tight up against rear housing, while having to track pushed outward on sprocket to eliminate bouncing. makes a huge difference then a good section of shaft welded to a handle a helper can hold while you pound away

I just filled the bucket on my HD5, backed up while turning left. that was always a fast way to get the track off it! lol
