D17 S1 split at torque housing (PTO shaft seals and bushing)

While I have the tractor apart I should probably replace the two PTO seals and bushing correct? Looks like I could get a hooked device on the seals but how would one get the bushing out?

The PTO shaft below has some scaring from the worn out bushing I guess, do you think this should be worked on before installing with the new bushing?

Thanks,

I would drive it out toward back, then fish it out through back hole.    MACK

That PTO bushing if $50... do you think the condition of the PTO shaft will just wear it out again?

It will unless you do something with shaft. I turned one down and made a sleeve to press on shaft. Salvage yard may have a good shaft.    MACK

Hello,  just wondering how this repair turned out,  I have same situation and will be replacing bushing and seals soon.  Did that bushing push out the back ok?  Anything you learned to make this job easier?    Thanks
