Is it that tough to put your "location" in when you register???? Seems people are scared someone might figure out who they are and where they live....GEESH! If you are looking for a part, or selling something  and your location isn't shown you won't hear from me....end of mini rant.

Yep, kind of a language thing. It also helps to know what someone is talking about if you know what region they are from. Different terms, same subject.

I'm in your camp on this one too, It can help with getting parts to someone if you know what state they are in.

This is the only site I visit that you can come on and post for sale your first post and then never be heard from again. I do some what agree that after a mininum number of post you get to know a person, at least figure something out about them.
That stranger with his first post selling something with no profile.......why should you have to ask location?, it's bad enough when they can't price something.

Thanks,Eldon

Alot of people live in the stealth mode, their right I guess. There are many lurkers also, as most of you know. I have had 100% sucess with everyone who I have dealt with on Forum, lurkers and posters. It's ironic that with the Internet now, nobody is able to hide from view.

You should try sometime to reply to someone on the Craigs list when they don't put they Phone number in their ad!! Its a real treat.

Maybe there should be at least a requirement  to  post our State.  I didn't post my city, but I did the County and State

I never put my phone number on craigs list and never will, if I get 80% spam by email I sure as $%#& do not want my "do not call" number or cell number given to a spammer. If you can not get me in 5 hours by email, good luck by phone anyway. Be creative, my add is usually on craigs and ebay for bigger stuff, my phone is listed on my ebay store.

Not so much here, but I get tired of posting my zip and people asking where I live, duh, you are on a computer, click 3 more times.

It does help to see the state at least. It gives you an idea of what life is like in other states.

I completely agree. Trying to hide is almost impossible in the elctronic age anyway. I am quite proud to live in Elberton, GA "The granite capitol of the world"(at least it was, now that may be China @#$%^!).

I only have a state listed. I would hope that any one is comfortable enought to at least tell what state there in. Having a town for the most part dosen't mean much to me I don't know were all the towns are. and I really don't need your adress. If I'm going to visit you I'll contact you and find out where you live.
