Instrumentation on the Dash is similar - layout of gauges differs. Also HD4 has dash lighting two locations so gauges can be seen at night.

On HD4 Loader Machines vs. 655 Loader there was a serial number break on the loader cylinders used.

HD4 Series II became the basis for the 650 series machines. Engine horsepower was increased from 52 HP in the HD4 to 59 HP in the 650 series.

Track Assemblies changed as tractor weight increased from 8,500 to 8,900 pounds.

Excerpts above from Allis Chalmers Construction Machinery and Industrial Equipment - author Norm Swinford.
