I have a 16 horse Briggs engine that is tired, burns quite a bit of oil. I was kicking around the idea of rebuilding it, but the rest of the tractor has several issues as well. Thinking of parting the whole machine out.

Would there be any interest in the engine from garden tractor pullers, or do they only like the Kohlers?

Its a 16 Horse I/C, if I remember correctly.

Thanks.

Around these parts probably not much interest from pullers as even the "stock" classes run internal modifications and all the speed parts are for Kohlers, at least the ones people can afford.

I hope to run a cast iron, 16HP Briggs in a B110 for stock altered pulling. It bolts right is and looks identical to the original 10HP engine. I just like to keep the same style of engine in the tractor and keep it as much Allis as possible. I likely won't beat the Kohler's, but oh well. As long as I can compete and be a bit different from all of the Cubs with Kohlers.
