Hi,

Just thought I would share a picture of the bracket I built for displaying the SMV sign thats mounted on my CA.  Had some scrap tubing and a small piece of angle and in about in hours time had my new bracket.

Thanks Dave!  My dad had a bracket that mounted on top of the PTO guard and the sign would rub on the seat or pinch your butt.  After my son and I repainted the old girl we decided to do something different that could be used on other tractors and wagons.  So...........there it is!

Looks like the bracket would be in the way when belting up the hammer mill. LOL

Looks like a PERFECT place to mount an umbrella, and a rear worklight... and a cupholder...

I once asked a deputy sheriff how he could enforce the use of SMV's on farm equipment when SMV's were being used illegally as drive way markers. He did not have an answer.

For some reason SVM's used as drive way markers bother me. Maybe because when SVM's law first came out the farmers were promised that they would not be used for anything else.

Dusty, Ya might have to take the law into your own hands in a situation like that. Remove the driveway markers.

George, from what I have just been reading that sign is illegal in the state of Illinois(and maybe other states). It seems they have new more reflective ones and if you drive on Il. roads you must have a new one. In Canada and the state of New York it is illegal to display these signs on a stationary object. I don't know about other states.

Charlie,

The center of the triangle on the SMV is a blaze orange, but for some reason the camera on my cell phone didn't pick that out.  As far using the belt pulley just remove the bolt from bracket and draw bar, move to the right side if you choose.  I know what you mean about the requirements in other states.  Seems as though there is no uniform law from state to state.

George, read this article and then go look at your sign to see if it has the right ASAE numbers on it.

For some reason this is a print version and wants to send to the printer when you open it. Just cancel print.
And that beats the heck out of my SMV attachment cause I got a carriage bolt head on the inside of the pan seat on my 45. LOL
