Mine isn't an Allis it is a Massey Harris that spent it's early life as a cultivator tractor for a truck garden with narrow 20" plantings of tomatoes mainly but other veggies too. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/oldgrumpy/media/my%20tractors/singlewheel44.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">  It is a pretty heavy duty unit really and saved 28 pounds when pulling compared to a duel narrow front Massey 44. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/oldgrumpy/media/my%20tractors/hpqscan0007.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

The single wheel fits down crop rows for cultivating nicer than the double wheel narrow front especially if the crop was bushy and/or the rows narrow. The wide fronts fit down those same rows too, but the narrow fronts can turn in a smaller space. Gerald J. |
