How many people would like a narrow front 190, 180 or 170? If so what would you pay for one?

I didn't grow up in a row crop area, so narrow fronts went out of style years ago, so all that I was ever used to seeing was wide fronts. To me (and of course, only my opinion) narrow fronts just look funny. Kind of like cabs. Up here in my frozen tundra, cabs were a Godsend to people, and that is what I am used to. Open stations on newer tractors just seem like they are missing something. I am certainly not taking anything away from anyone's narrow front or open station, just saying that it's kind of relevant to what a person is used to. Darrel

You couldnt give me one. I like C  and WD sized narrow fronts But I also like wide fronts. The narrow front tractors were used alot when I was a kid .  We cultivated crops and mowed hay with them.  we used the wide fronts for all the road work since you didnt have to fight keeping the tractor straight on all the field roads. I didnt even like the narrow front D17s I thought they looked wierd.

I'd like to have both a 190 and an XT with a NF and diesel engines just to have them. The series 2 and 3 tractors just look cool with the NF but I wouldn't pay much more then what a wide front tractor is worth.

I'd like a narrow front 190 to go with our narrow front 180.

It would be cool to have just for the sake of collecting as they are much less common but I don't really care for the look of them on those tractors. I like my narrow front old tractors like my Farmall F-20 and H and letter series like the Allis WD an C but I'm not a fan of the big more square tractors with a narrow front. They don't look right being that large; looks like an elephant on a beach ball as they say.

Think an Allis 190XT Narrow Front would be pretty slick on a Snow blower in the winter time, would really turn short. Someone on You tube has an Oliver 1800/1900 series NF on a blower and it was pretty maneuverable. I would not mind owning one. I would take a High Crop 190/ 190XT before a NF though, just because I think the Allis Hi- Crop tractors look cool.

Often a narrow front wheel assembly will turn nearly 90 degrees from straight ahead and with some help from the inside rear wheel brake will turn essentially pivoting on the center of the rear axle. That can be handy some places. At the same time the tip over pivot for the front of the tractor is at ground level, where its the front axle pivot bolt for all the wide front tractors which makes it easier to tip a narrow front tractor over from an unbalanced loader load or working sideways on a slope. It can be important to work slopes only up and down the slope, never trying to stay level on the slope and more important with a narrow front than a wide front. That is not to say a wide front won't tip on a steep enough slope but a narrow front will tip sooner. Spreading out the rear wheels if the crop will allow it and/or adding rear wheel weights can help the lateral stability of any tractor.

Many moons ago, my future bride thought my One Seventy was sexy.  Case closed !  I will always love both.
Off subject a bit, but as a surprise for my birthday circa 1980-ish, she dyed her hair orange.   Man that was cool.  Gotta dig a pic out of the vault somehow.

I would like one some day. I like the looks of high hp narrow front tractors and like them in the field as well. I have a narrow front 4020,2510 and two 3020's. Went to school with a friend who had a narrow front 190. Local Deere dealer sold five 4320's with narrow fronts and there was a MF 1100 or 1130 used on a neighbors TMR mixer. The narrow front 190's would be out of my price range but have given a little though about if you could use the front steering parts out of a Deere 4020 and adapt them over into the 190. You could even add a rollomatic frontend. Anyone think it would work? Tom

No interest in doing that to a newer era tractor. I farmed with a narrow front Farmall M. In my opinion, it was a great chore tractor in tight places - not mud though. I did not care for it in row crop work either - plow, disc, harrow, planting, cultivating, mowing, raking, & baling.

That is a picture of my tractor in the yard I took several years ago. It showed up one other time on some site. I don't know where the picture is coming from. I must have posted it somewhere in the past. Just curious where you found that picture.  I think those were some of the best looking tractors AC built.

Js case, that tractor is a beauty. I think they look tough with a nf. Grew up with nf's. It was all we had. You can turn em on a dime and work tight places if you need too. Better than a wide front. Far as bein more dangerous than a wide front, you just need to think about what you're doin and use a little common sense.

just did a Google search for narrow front 190 tractors and it pops up with a few others. I love the looks of those tractors especially with fat tires on the back.

I grew up on Narrow front WD and WD-45 . Still have one of each. Had a NF D-15 diesel and also have a OneNiney narrow front which doesn't see field work other than pulling a wagon or two. I think they look cool mainly because they are rarely seen. Also a few single fronts in the barn.

How about a single front diamond tire holding up the front end of a 7080 with long axles and Mexican Hats spin out duals.

Narrow fronts fit together better when you have limited storage space!  Grew up on one, drove others in hilly ground, never had a problem.  Just need to pay attention.

One day I was in a generous mood, I decided to help out some of my less fortunate green friends and haul some tractors for them. The four in the center are all narrow fronts. AW on front, 4020, 630, G, A, all NF and BR hanging on the rear. Two extras because of narrow fronts. I had a lot of fun with the orange trailer.

One's willingness of what to pay is determined on rarity, condition, location, correctness, attitude, and how much they've drank prior. So to ask what some would be willing to pay is a loaded question. A lot of variables involved.

Great pictures! Love the AC D19 NF and particularly the AC 200 NF. Is the AC 200 NF a custom job, or did AC really offer a factory installed NF for the 200?

I really like my D15 NF with power steering.Power steering really makes a NF tractor more usable, use the D15 to run the square baler, pull a disk and other odd jobs. Also have a NF
CA and wouldn't trade the NF for a Wide front on it.

Nice looking tractors , I did pay $1000 for a n/f assembly for a 170 about 6 years ago, then roadtripped to North Carolina for it, then found one in Fargo Iowa for a XT gave $350 for it, 3 years ago, just like the looks of them they do spin around in a tight circle for sure!
