Hi,

does anyone know  a cross reference for a seal for HD11 the Allis Chalmers part number is 620279 or 70620279.

Original Part is $185 each and i need two of them, would much prefer an aftermarket version however i am unsure of the specs of the original part.

Just went to part book to ID the seal. Appears by descriptor page 218 to be a two piece probably a steel ring with a packing ring of rawhide(most likely) or a o-ring. I seriously doubt after market would handle that.

That is what I meant in last post, never seen a packing if it is by aftermarket save hydraulic cylinders. You may want to take the remnant pieces to a hydraulics shop to have made as not many if any still make multi-piece rawhide seals save by hand.

Allis final drive seals are as rare and odd. Are a mix of two steel washers with neoprene rubber fibrous donut between with springs embedded. Your 11 has these and they are not available by anyone else either.

To add, it most likely have been a weeping seal to lubricate the outer bearing on the clutch shaft support bearing. To put a full hard seal in there may doom the bearing to failure.

the 17277 crosses to this national #.  does not mean it is correct application,   I have no idea. It is a chicago rawhide to National #
skf # crosses to same
