No, but I spent a week there one night.  Back in the 80's.  Wife was pregnant w/ #1.  Stayed in a motel used by the pipeline workers.  Korean desk lady insisted we pay for the cable TV, so we did.  Turned it on to find out of the 4 stations, 2 were XXX.  Happened to notice that the bedspread on the one channel matched the one in our room.  Wife went nuts.   Looked all over for the camera, couldn't find one.  I had to hold up the bedspread around as a shield while she changed.  Oddly enough, she wouldn't take a shower there.

Why do you ask?

I spent about the first six months of my life up there. My dad was stationed at Fort Greely in the late 80s. The base there wasn't setup for delivering children, so my mom was taken by ambulance to Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks when she went into labor with me. After Fort Greely we went to Fort Reilly, KS for a short time before heading back to Alaska to Fort Richardson. My parents have been in Alaska ever since.

I will have to check records, but I think we sold a combine part to a dairy up there a few years back, IIRC it was for a K?

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

Looked it up on Google earth, quite a bit of farm land around the area including a big irrigation pivot.  About 950 people in the town.  I wonder if the milk would go to Fairbanks.

the reason I ask....there is a farm for sale up there, and usually when the farm ground sells up there, the farm equipment is included in the sale. this farm has a big Gleaner, but don't see what the tractors are. lots of nice buildings and bins. sure would save me and Eldon hauling our equipment up there! lol

I bet there ain't no snow machine that goes with the place. Therefore, if you moved up there, that would leave your snow machine un-attended. .....? YES!!!!!!!!!!!Darrel

Shameless, if you like it cold for a long time, 100 mile drive for groceries, hunting and fishing its a great place.  The military has sunk a lot of money into Ft Greeley the last few years, so might be a nicer place than when I was there in the early to mid 90's.  Lots of dark in the winter and no dark in the summer.  Last field problem I was on in Jan 96 it was -101f without the wind.

I been kinda looking at the acreages up there for sale, and seeing how much wood they gots stacked up inside buildings.....kinda scares me! but then, I've only seen 2 that have wood stoves that in reality put out more heat on less wood like I have. plus I can't figgers out why they put the out houses and the wood sheds so far away from the house? PffffT! I know that would change if I buys up there!

After forgetting to buy birthday presents may have to go that far to hide from the old la...loving wife.

Maybe you can find a old bear to bunk with out in the forest up there if things get to bad.

At those temps I would stick around the stockholders so they don't forget to worry what you mite do to them next.Unless the loving wife is that mad.

So, are you looking at the 5,500 acre place for $7,200,000 or one of the smaller places for half a million $?

Hunted Alaska in ' 72 & '73. My guide  owned & farmed several thousand acres in Delta Juct. We became good friends & he sent lots of pictures to me. Back then he said he grew barley & potatoes and had record breaking yields but trucking cost so much he barely broke even, he made more money selling hay for local horses, brome hay & foxtail hay. Dad visited & hunted with him several times after he quit guiding and said Joe took him to see mountains of potatoes going to waste because there was no market. He had all new IH machinery and recieved grant money to clear the land & buy machinery, long strips of farm ground between strips of brush he was not allowed to burn because of damage to the permafrost. He sold out & moved to Great Falls, Mt where I was going to go deer hunting with him but I'm afraid he passed on cause phone is off & letters come back...Harvey
