How hard is it to change a wide front C back to narrow like it was originally?
I inherited a wide front and want to convert it back to original.

You will need the whole front pedestal.

Did it come from the factory with NFE? If so, is it possible to contact the prior owner to see if he still has the parts. Probably unlikely, tho.
Here in my part of New York State it seems as many WFEs as NFEs were sold.

If it has the C wide front, not the B wide front and the front pedestal for the C it is about an hour or less job. After the radiator is removed and the drag link removed at the front you just have the four nuts to remove holding the front to the engine block. Pull the wide front off and slide the narrow front on the studs and tighten the nuts.  That time is assuming you have the proper tools to work with which includes jacks and an engine lift to hold the narrow upright. I have always worked alone but it would help if you had a lifting buddy to hold the narrow up while starting the nuts.

I decided to pull the narrow front off my C and put a narrow front from a CA on a Saturday evening for a Sunday pull.  It took about two hours which included drilling the holes in a block of steel to mount it on the front of the CA front.
