The joint where the runoff tube attaches to the radiator neck on my WD45 has broken. Fan blade sometimes hits the tube at one spot, maybe because of vibration. I'd like to reattach the tube and then see if I can reshape it to eliminate the fan blade/tube problem.

Has anyone had any luck resoldering them while the radiator is on the tractor and full of coolant? Thanks.

You need a couple inches of head room to solder, else moisture will boil and blow the solder away. I have a big enough soldering iron that I've tried to solder seams with water present and it did that there too. Once I lowered the level, I had no problems soldering the seam with most of the radiator full.

Be carefull, dont get it to hot or the neck will come out of the radiator!!!!  Use plenty of flux and clean, clean, clean before you solder.   Good luck.
