Has anyone tried to put a bin extension on the L series(other than what it has). Like the Maurer extension. Had to make a cover to go behind the clean grain elevator, at the end of the season you can get about 10 bushels of corn and beans mixed out of that area.

Here is one that someone put a bin extension on. Looks like a homemade job. http://www.equipmentlocator.com/photos/equip/603560-1.jpg" rel="nofollow - http://www.equipmentlocator.com/photos/equip/603560-1.jpg

We have a Mauer on our R62 makes it a PAIN to get in and out of the grain tank. Just a FYI

I would like to put a small extension on the L3's we have but dad's afraid the clean grain slip clutch wont handle it. Sometimes you just need that extra 15-20 bushels to make a full round in good corn. The R62's with a 230-250 bushel bin is what I really want.......when that happens, I don't know. Leon B MO

Would be nice if the stock extension had "flaps" on the sides that folded up too. Ours always spills over on the right side before it overflows on the left side.

like Leon, I needed just a little more room on my "G". and one day I looked at the other extension on the parts "G", and it being the same size it should work! I took that extension off and turned it upside down, and there were already holes in the framework that matched up. I just bolted it on top and nothing else was needed to mount it! it was usually enough to get me to the end of the field. but sometimes doing end rows it would get almost full to the top then the clean grain slip clutch took off! i'm sure you could fit any of the screen type extensions off other combines to fit. and they'd be cheap! it doesn't hafta fit the whole bin, if you mount it away from the sides of the lower bin, it should keep that one from over flowing out on side hills.

Not sure how much you want to add but how about some baler belting? can get that up to at least ten inches, maybe more.

I even thought about finding an old satellite dish (the screen ones) set it on top and trace the bin edge out, make a frame to fit that edge and bolt it on. I don't have to get in the bin anyway, I fixed that problem, made me a fold in door in the side of the grain tank and bolted a piece of channel at an angle that ends close to the door(like the JD's have). And I'm wanting to put a Loup system on it anyway for moisture

Can the axles hold up to an extension?

I do not know for sure, but it appears the one that VAfarmboy posted is a Bish extension.
If anyone would have plans sitting around for older models, I bet bish would.

We took the Mauer off our Deere 9550 because it was a PAIN to climb up there and fold it down every time we put it in the shed.
