How important is it to have the Gleaner E engine for pulling? Can you build a regular old 226 to the same specs? Thanks.

The Gleaner model "E" or "E-3" is a G-226 engine, already configured at 63 or 67 flywheel HP. You can spend the money on a lower HP W-226 and get the same results, but the G-226 has larger main bearings and a somewhat stronger block to begin with. How much HP do you think you need??

Thanks, Dr. Allis. I wasn't aware of the larger mains and stronger block. I'm not sure what I am going to need, but I will be competing in 3500 and 4500lb open classes at local fairs. Will likely need more cubes.
