I am rehabbing a couple of latches that I bought through the Forum. Can someone tell me if the pin in the latch body (part that slides onto the SC arm) to which the latch springs attach is a single pin that goes all the way through? Both ends are broken off, and it appears to be thoroughly rusted into the tube it goes through.

Thinking that it is a solid pin, I am trying to remove it using heat and a drive pin. But no joy thus far.

Other suggestions? Anyone have luck drilling them out?

Thanks a lot for any ideas!!

If I understand what your talking about, I believe those are the small twist rivits that press in.  mine were broke off, and I drilled most of the way, then was able to get an easy out on the rest and twist it right out

Larry, I have those twist rivets and could drill out enough of the old material to insert them. Thanks.
