The fuel tank on my B has gotten pretty leaky. Has been patched with JB in the past and red-koted, too. Still leaking at anything over 1 gallon or so.

Not sure where to go from here.

Will a tank from a CA fit on my B? Both are from the early to mid 50s.

Any good sources for reproduction tanks (?)

Any B/C/CA gas tank with a strap fastener on the top rear of the tank is a direct replacement any way you go. No Reproductions are being made.

As long as both tanks have the strap with bolt on the back, the CA tank will fit on your B or C. A B or C tank will NOT fit on a CA becasue the starter switch on a CA needs an indent on the bottom of the tank.

On a side note, in would be profitable for someone to make plastic or resin replacement tanks becasue I easily get $100 for a used B/C/CA tank on ebay (in great shape)

I saved a real bad tank for my C with fiberglass mat. I sanded the tank to bare metal, then cut strips of mat, soaked them in resin on a plastic bag over a plank, laid the strips on the tank tight without over lap. when cured I sanded smooth, then coated with a thin coat of bondo. (I put a small amount of the resin in the bondo mix) I then sanded, primed and painted.  That was about six years ago.

Jump over to the YT Site, Allis Chalmers in Classified Ads, Pictures.
A fella named Paul in Wentzville, MO parts out the B, C and CA specifically and lists many available parts. Have bought from him previously and he is a straight shooter. Any of his ads (he usually runs many) will have his contact info and this guy deals in plenty of parts.

Doesn't the CA tank have a depression in the bottom for clearance of something, can't remember what.

actually the top mounted hand operated starter switch makes the dent on the bottom of the gas tank necessary on the CA AND late Bs and IBs

Instead of bring up an old thread, go to the classified section and make a new post. You'll probably get a quicker response if anybody has one for sale.

I think you would be better off starting a New post in the Classified Section with a Subject
