I am looking for a different grader than my AD4 and have spotted a M100B. can anyone explain how the blade lift controls work? I an familiar with the AD4 and the old Cat star drive Knuckle busters. is the M100B similar? can the levers be adjusted easily to save my arthritic hands? I don't mind my AD4 so much but am tired of no power steering.

Do not take this for gospel truth, but I think the M100 is fully hydraulic. I could be wrong, but I can't find my Allis construction equipment book to verify it. Hope someone else chimes in and sets the record straight. Darrel

The AD4 I ran had steering assist and it was better than the BD4 but still left something to be desired.I always wondered why a guy couldn't add a Char-Lynn unit in the steering shaft and make it work.....and it seems like Darrel is right about hydraulics on M100.Been a long time since I seen one. Didn't IL Gleaner get an M100?
...took too long on the post

I know now the M100B has knuckle buster controls but it also has hydraulic for steering and i think brake booster controls. for those that have them are the blade controls comparable to the old caterpillar controls? i thought about trying to put a Charlyn setup on my AD4 but i think i want to just get a different machine for now.

From my experience with an AC 45 make sure you have a manual if you try adjusting the blade controls.
And if the dog clutches are badly worn you can reverse them and get another go.

When you do blade adjustments on the m100b, you need to idle down. If you don't you'll find out why they call them knucklebuster controls. Don't ask me how I know.

yes, same way on my 145T. blade controls work better when not running full throttle but power steering sucks when idled down
