I need to replace the steering shaft seal on my D-15 with power steering. What is the procedure to get at it? Move the bolster ahead? or can it be worked on from the rear?  I put the same seal in my D19 years ago and seems to me I left the bolster in place and removed the left side rail, had a manual for that one but not the 15.
Thanks in advance.

I have always replaced it when I had the bolster removed.  You are going to have to separate it for sure to disconnect the steering shaft at the coupling.  After that, drive out the roll pin and remove the coupling.  Thinking about it now, you will have to separate it for sure to remove the cap that the seal sits in.

I think you are on the right track Butch.

I also foggily remember a procedure or special tool to extract the old seal by pulling it but never have gotten into that.
