Hey guys, got a simple question. I have a 185 Allis that I'm trying to fix back up a bit. Well, all the rubber knobs are rotted and nasty, so I ordered several new ones. The problem is that the throttle lever is square and I haven't seen a square knob to fit it. The only place I've seen any knob referred to as a throttle lever knob, it was actually for the seat lever, and it was round. This tractor didn't have a throttle lever knob on it when I bought it so I don't even know what I'm looking for. Would one of you mind posting a picture of one for me or a link to where one is sold?

Thanks!!

That knob is the same as the PTO and Power Director lever, except, that it might have been red in color, instead of black. Square shaft means nothing to the rubber knob....spit on it and shove it in place.

AGCO part number 70254706.  Google it and you'll find several sellers or go to your dealer with the number.

I took a razor blade and cut the last one I did to a square shape...just don't make the square too big. I've got some used old knobs if you are interested in them...not the best looking though.

I never understood why AC thought a round hole would work properly on a square shaft.  The old knob on our 175 always cracked and fell off because of this.  I solved this problem when I restored the tractor a couple of years ago.  Had my local fab shop make up a new throttle lever with a rounded end based on the measurements I took of my D14 gear shift.  It is a beautiful fit now...

I replaced mine this spring. It should be red for the throttle. I had a trouble getting it on so put a little oil on the shaft and in the knob. It slid right on.
