Thanks Joe. Went to my grandchildren's school for a program today. They had a good program and nearly 100 veterans in attendance. Even had one WW2 veteran. These kids did an outstanding job of honoring veterans and our flag and country.

You know my Granddaughter's Boyfriend texted me today to wish me a Happy Veterans Day.  That is one of the very few time I have been acknowledged as a veteran.  I am, but the service I had was between Korea and before Vietnam.  The Cold War.  Did not think it mattered that much cause I really did not do anything spectacular.
Guess no matter what you did you still gave a portion of your life to "protect" the country.
In any event to all who served in meaningful times Happy Veterans Day.
Good Luck!

I signed up for a 4 year tour with the National Guard which included 6 months active duty for training.
I got out when Vietnam was heating up.
Dairy farming did not work well with the NG.
I've never felt like a veteran.

Dusty, you put in your time.....ergo.....you ARE a veteran!
Want some proof?  Look at all the ones that wanted OUT of the guard as soon as Afghanistan and the mid east broke out.  They all wanted to bail out!  They didn't WANT to go to war.
You served your hitch, be PROUD.
