I should probably knock on wood, shut up about it but here I go.
As far as I know, the water pump on my 1948 C is the original.
I doesn't leak a drop, the seal and bearing is still good. Is that possible? Did they have the best ever seals in '48? Comparing to stuff from the '70's and on it seems like a miracle.

Lots of things still work pretty good on these old tractors. I am surprised at how they keep going with little maintenance in some areas. I haven't answered your question. But if its not broke don't fix it!

just put a pump on WD.Been on there at least since1962
