I'm replacing the brakes on my I600 and there is a bushing on the axle shaft near the brake drum. That bushing is worn about 3/16"-1/4" on the top side. What could cause this? The bearings apear to be good. Any help is appreciated Thanks Steve.

Maybe post a picture and that might help...unless someone in the past has put some kind of speedy sleeve for the seal there isn't supposed to be a bushing there on the shaft. You say worn on the top?? When the shaft turns any wear should be the same all around?

Could've been something someone added, through the years, or it had bad bearings, once that were replaced, before you got it.  I'd get a look at the exploded parts diagram, to see if its an added part...

After looking at it again today I see that it isn't a bushing. But it still puzzles me why that hole is oblonged.
