Had an amazing opportunity over the last week. Was able to buy serial #1 5020 from the original owner's family. The family got the tractor brand new in Garner, IA. Shortly after having the tractor, the gentlemen decided to put turf tires on it. This tractor is a 4WD and is all original with 1557 hours. I have never owned a 5000 series but have always wanted too. Feel very blessed to have had this opportunity. I know Norm's book says that the first model starts at 1001 but this tractor shows otherwise. My only other guess is this could have been a prototype model? Anyway, I thought I would share my good news. Plan on keeping the tractor and selling the blade. More pictures to come.

Here is an updated picture of her sitting in the garage after being cleaned and waxed. I am going to need a new seat bottom and shifter boot. Any idea if anyone still makes these parts?

and for the seat bottom, here's a pic out of AGCO's online parts book

Nice tractor!
I wouldn't worry too much about ole Shameless, I don't think he has a snow machine anyway! I tried all summer to see if he could hit Florida with it, and he never even came close!

Part numbers did me no good when my neighbors 5020 steering gears broke.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Sandy Lake had a set of USED gears for big bucks. Finally, after lots of searching we found a used set we could afford and got his 5020 back to work.
Everything is fine as long as nothing brakes.

I was able to track down the seat cushions and shifter boot. Thanks for all the help. Does anyone have any ideas about the serial number? Could this tractor possibly have been a prototype? I know that Hinimoto made these for Allis but since the numbers don't match Norms book it's got me wondering.

Hey Shameless! Why don't you just set that snow machine over here! I like snow, and I haven't had much of a chance to test my new angle blade since I got it 2 years ago! I'd like some snow, but not until December.

Hello, can you tell me where you were able to find the gear shift boot and seat cushions for your 5020? I need the same for mine. Thanks

I really like that tractor.  It looks almost new!  Your seat is different than mine.  Mine is a pan with two two cushions.  They may have made a change somewhere along the line.  Who knows?  Because of the parts problems for the front wheel drive, I wouldn't use it unless really necessary and then gently!  Good luck and an exceptional find!

Very nice. If the blade is original, I would keep it.
AGCO parts books online has the book of Implements and Accessories.
A lot of stuff was available, including 1 and 2 bottom 14" plows.

Around here I know of one Allis-Chalmers 5020 and (2) Deutz-Allis 5220.
One of the 5220's has a loader and the FWD axle is broken.

I wonder if there is a good write-up on the history and fate of Hinomoto.
