I am in the process of rebuilding the power director on the family 1958 d17, as there was no further room for adjustment with shims. With it taken apart, several of the friction lined clutch disks are badly worn and missing material completely in places. The alternate steel plates are worn to the form of the linings. The manual I have doesn't specify a thickness for these steel plates, and with this being the first one that I have had apart, I wasn't sure if it was good measure to replace them as well. I know that the cost of repair parts can add up quickly and wanted to check with those who have more experience before I carried on.
Thanks, Brad

Generally, if the separator plates are flat, you reuse them. Exact thickness can be measured at each of the three square tabs with a mike.
