I remember someone doing this a while ago, I would like to find the post but haven't had any luck.

I am thinking rather than spending a bunch of money on a 226 why not use the 262 to pull with?

I know---rules. They vary club to club. My club probably wouldn't catch it especially if I have side shields. Most people in my club wouldn't know what it is suppose to look like anyway, not many ACs pull around here.
It is an AC engine, when other pullers only have stock block and head because they have built to the max.

I know oliver, massey, MM do engine swaps and get away with it so why not?

Some rules say same Manufacture must bolt up.

I am thinking 262, remove the drive shaft and slide everything back a foot so the can leave the wheel base the same. That would help from drawing attention if the front bolster is not moved/
Even if they complain it still would be fun to do.

What do you guys think.

You know, the 45gas and diesel frame rails were the same length. They just set the radiator farther fwd over the pedestal.

Around here you have to stick to the same number of cylinders as the original motor had.

-------------
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

WC has to be stretched to make it fit.

I have an unstyled WC powered by a 262.  The only frame rail mods are some holes drilled, and one rail was nibbled to clear the D19 governor.  The bellhousing, transmission,
traction release, rear axle are unmodified. PTO was deleted. Wheelbase is unchanged.
