I finished up the build of my 2600 disc project today. The cleanup and paint will be on hold until we return to our house where I have my bead blaster and paint booth. This is a model of the 32.4 footer so this model ends up being 24 and 1/4 inches wide. The real discs are 24 inches so these are 1.5 inches. All brass and I made each part. Here's a couple photos: http://s270.photobucket.com/user/ACmodels/media/2600%20Disk/099%201024x768.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> http://s270.photobucket.com/user/ACmodels/media/2600%20Disk/100%201024x768_1.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> http://s270.photobucket.com/user/ACmodels/media/2600%20Disk/101%201024x768.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

Thanks for the comments!! The next project with be a 2500 disc. Not sure yet which size. The discs are 22" so I need to order some inch and 3/8th blanks today. They're 50 cents each plus shipping but quicker than punching them myself. The material cost for this project is about $125. Tires and wheels are $8 a pair.
Shameless, to answer your question, I bought my first real AC tractor to restore in 1993 and also started buying toys at the same time. By 2000 I had most of everything the toy companies made so decided I would need to build the unusual stuff. The Speed Patrol was my first project and it just grew from there. Like with real tractor restoration, having the right tools makes a huge difference. This disc makes about 75 models that I have built or modified. They're all on my website at acmodelsofarizona.weebly.com which gets hit from 30 t0 50 times a day.
Lonn, I have never sold anything so all of them are on the shelf. I have about 90 hours in this disc and it still needs to be painted, so it would be tough to put a price on it. I'll let the auctioneer decide that at my estate auction!! My wife has him and the mortician on speed dial!! LOL
Glad you guys enjoy seeing my projects!!!!!

That is amazing work. I kept passing up this thread because I thought someone was asking what model their disk was. WAY cooler than that. Every detail and all those little blades and spools.
