I have two BIG TENs both were original when I got them my ? is one had a yellow engine the other a black engine which is correct, or were some yellow and some black, the old sales litature I have found shows a yellow engine. thanks Tom ------------- 190XT 2WD45 WF D15 D14 CA BIG10 302 & 303 bailers 77G rake 80R mower 6 plows and alot more |

| Boy I can't remember what ours is but leaning towards black. Maybe later ones were black or back when they were new a new engine put in for some weird reason |

Early B-10 (9hp) was yellow, as was the Big Ten (10hp). The late B-10 that replaced the Big Ten had a black engine. Tom, going by the picture in your other thread, I would say the engine is newer than the tractor. It has the location on the RH side of the block, for a bendix-type starter to be installed. Doubtful...if anything I bwt they would paint over the yellow. Funny you should mention that Chris, cause I thought I was seeing the same thing in that pic. I was saying to myself could that be a later model engine???
