Is the AC Shop Manual any better than the IT Manual.   I see all kinds of prices for the AC Manual, $30 to  $130, WHY?

AC manual is far more detailed than the I&T. Well worth the money to buy the factory manual.

What is the difference in factory manual, I see 200 pages and I see 600 pages and they are both called official AC Service manuals and priced at $30 and $130.  How do you tell what they are? And then I see SHOP Manuals, what the heck is the difference and how do you tell and which do I really need?

Why is life so complicated????

Hi.   What model of tractor are you looking to have a (service) manual for?   Ross.

Answer is, is because there's a sucker born every minute...  I like the Agco original reprints best and agco's price is often the lowest.  The worst ones are the I&T manuals that will describe how to remove something, at the bottom of one page, but on top of the next page, they say, "but first"...

All I have ever used is the IT manual and I did a complete tear down and rebuild of my WC. I sometimes had to read it a couple times and then tear something apart and make mental notes (which are all gone now Ouch ) so I could get it back together!

Each tractor has it's own service manual so keep that in mind and look for the specific model you need. Some of the expensive ones are originals instead of reprints. I prefer good reprints to originals. I hate getting those dirty fingerprints on an original. Save those for the collector.

I am looking at 6060-6080 manuals on e-bay.  The ones I am looking at says 200 pages and 600 pages with $100 price difference.  The IT manual I have is 70 pages.

I think it all depends on how much work you want/ need to do to that tractor yourself.
The 600 page manual will likely address every problem you will encounter. As an example, our 7060 manual shows necessary tools that can be purchased or fabricated to do the task at hand. As is the case with many tools, spend as much as you can afford and you will find it worth it in the end.

It's been hit or miss with the A-C 190 Service manual. Some sections leave a lot to be desired and then some it skips (Like the Fuel system)
We have been using the A&I manual along with the A-C manual to get the best idea how to do things.

Charlie,
I noticed the same thing with my 185 service manual. Barely covers the fuel system if at all.

I think you had to get another service manual for Fuel System.
