I will be looking at a B today for donor parts for my project. They say the trans is locked up, possibly in two gears. Is there anything I can look at through the shifter hole?

Not really. Take the side plate off with the shifter forks and you will probly find that one gear is slipped out of the one fork. Use a flash light and remove the plate carefully and peek in and you will be able to tell very quickly if the gears are lined up with the forks. Many times when replacing the side plate I bump one gear away from a fork and have to try again. If every thing is as it should be the slide gears slide very easy.

Chuck,  The B had a very good transmission.  In fact, I cannot recall a problem we ever had with them.  We did have a few heavy handed shifters on the G's that we had to do transmission work but not the B's.
Listen closely to what Dick says.  If you take the side plate off that should give you an answer quickly.
Take good care of my favorate.
Good Luck!

I had to pass on this one, I was looking for a hydraulic pump, but it had been removed. Interesting do on the wheels, I was looking at the tires, brand new tread wise, but totally weather cracked.  http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-heavy-equipment-farming-equipment-Allis-chalmers-B-W0QQAdIdZ202463445 - http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-heavy-equipment-farming-equipment-Allis-chalmers-B-W0QQAdIdZ202463445

I have to thank ACscott for my latest aquisition. After going back and looking at the B, we came to terms and Scott and his dad delivered it to my driveway in 45 minutes. Thanks again Scott.
