I have a beater C that is missing.   It will run smoothly then "pop" like a miss.  I can make it do it worse if I move the throttle to a faster setting quickly.    Could this be a carburetor or valve problem?  Timed by ear.  Any help would be appreciated.

Timed by ear - nope.  Use a timing light.
