Just finally got to pull my 7000 yesterday for the first time. Was pulling in 8500lb 8mph class and it ran good but choked out down the towards the end of the track. The motor has been rebuilt with xt pistons, 7030 turbo, 7030 pump that has been worked on and it has 7080 injector tips. Also we put a 200 head on it with new valves. It was dynoed at 180hp. I know the 301 is lacking on cubes. I would still like to try to compete with the 4020 deeres if possible. Any help would be appreciated. A stiffer clutch has me put in also. Thanks

needs way more fuel to get the hp needed to compete with hot 4020's.

18.4-38 tires. It's an 8mph farm class. Can the pump I have be worked on to get enough fuel? I need to try to keep it stock appearing as possible.

Windshield washer fluid sprayed into the intake air is good for 40 to 60 more HP. Very difficult to have more power than a turbo'd Deere 4020....103 more cubes makes the difference.

I am pulling a Allis 200 with a bigger pump , looks like it came factory , bigger injectors , to4 turbo with the in side bored out wth a bigger wheel , putting 250 cc of fuel to it , I do great in the 5 or 6 mph classes , 5 first 2 seconds and 2 third places for the year so far, the green ones can't touch me , but anything more then 6 mph I can't do very good at those are my 3 rd place ones , just can't make enough power to pull in higher gears , thinking about putting a smaller exhaust housing on turbo to drive it harder on the lower rpms , all I can say is stay in the slower pace classes ! Good Luck and have a great year pulling 😃

Oh yeh , you have to fine the sweet spot in the timing , took me a bit to do, I have to run mine at 28 degrees so it stays on top of the turbo , it still starts great and runs even better , I run 2nd high and always spin out at the end , have 18.4 x38 tires on it , just a thought to try it , sure helped me !

A JD4020 was never turbo-charged from factory. An M&W turbo kit could be added to it. JD 4320 was factory turbo though.

Thanks for all the help. These 4020's have added the turbos and things. I've striped down weight about as much as I can and I'm still at that 8000lb mark. I've put pressed steel wheels on and also put smaller front tires and wheels on. I unbolted the old hitch and built a much lighter one. Some places I pull they require the 3-point housing to be in place but I have removed all the lift arms and cylinders. I can maybe take one battery out. I don't want to strip to much just for the fact I may one day put it back stock and use it on the farm.

My 200 does better in the 10000 and 10500 class better then in 8500 , I can weight it better and balance it better , also you said you put bigger injectors and more fuel to it , did you change the lines going to them , can push all the fuel you want out of the pump but the line size had to up with that to get the fuel to the injector , I'm getting over 250 hp and 35 psi of boost out of mine , you should have no problem getting that out of yours , hope some of this helps , If you would want to talk pm me your phone #

I pull a 190xt in a lot of 5, 7, and 8 mph classes. 200-250cc's(I can't remember exactly) of fuel out of the pump and 7080 injector tips. Im not real competitive in the 8mph 8500 class, but I can be in the 7500 8mph. I can hang pretty good in the 7mph and can dominate the 5mph in both weights.
