A friend of mine called and said he had a BIG TEN and that if I wanted it I could have it, he said it was in the shed and was pulled in there about 15 yrs ago when the guy finished mowing the yard, and it went with the place when he bought it 15 yrs ago, he also said there was a snow plow that went with it if he could find it, the only thing is it is 150 mi. to his house, so 300 mi round trip, ? is, is it worth driving 300 mi for a free BIG TEN?

You should've been gassing up the truck instead of typing this. You could've been almost there by now!  LOL!  If it ran and its complete, been stored in a shed, and its for free, its definitley worth the trip. I just bought one that's 3.5 hrs away and its missin' stuff. That's okay though, cause its got an electric lift on it, so its worth the ride to go git' it to me..

Those old Briggs take very little to run again.  I bought a B-1 that had sat for 10+ years, and it took longer for me to knock the barn gunk off of it that it did to get it to run.  New oil, fuel line, filter, fuel and she popped and ran.  To get it reliable, I later cleaned the carb.

Tommy ya did good man! She's a beauty! Looks pretty complete and the price was right. Have fun with it. Chris, GT's are fun! And they don't take up as much room once you get em' apart. The parts are much easier on the back to! Just gotta' watch the ones like the 700 series with the Hydro's in em'. Them Hydro's are heavy dudes! LOL!
