It's the large, round cap with a dipstick and it's just forward of the seat.  Looks quite dark.  Who knows when it was last changed?

Where do I drain and what would be a good choice for the replacement fluid?

821 or equivalent trans hydraulic oil or you could use 80-90 gear lube in that application since it's not a hydraulic reservoir. Large plug under transmission to drain. Can't remember if just one plug or not but I think it's just one in a D17.

I would use the Universal transdraulic fluid. If the old stuff is thick and not too clean, it might not hurt to spray around thru the fill hole with some diesel and drain it again.
