Im having trouble with the K hydraulics. Its an early model K with the hydraulic can on top of the pump. I went to take the corn head off today to get ready for wheat and the header will only lift up a couple inches and stops. You can wait a couple seconds and try again and it will lift a couple more inches and stop again. The power steering still works good and when you try to lift you can hear the pump pull the engine. I changed the filter and a leaking lock out valve and still the same thing. The reservoir is full.I did notice that when I pulled the filter element that there was hardly any fluid leaking out while the filter was out. Is there a screen or filter in the reservior that could be starving the pump? I am stumped......

Check your belt tension on the pump. I had an F2 do the same thing.

If it has a safety shutoff on hydraulic cylinder, it could be shut off. Like Dan's said belt has got to be tight. MACK

It was the belt on mine . Put a new one on and it has worked for a year now. Scott

I will sure try the belt. I've kinda got side tracked today working on a roof. As always I picked the hottest day to fool with roof work. Lol.. I'm getting back to the K in the am and will put a belt on and see what happens. I've went over everything else I can think of. Sure hope the pump hasn't decided to take a dump.
