our 7040 light used to come on at low rpm,s ..then it came on all the time .. thru it all the tractor worked fine ..if it was my tractor i would put a new filter on it each year ..keep an eye on oil level ..and not worry .. of course you could drain the system every 5 yrs or so  as moisture could get to be an issue ...

only trans pressure light should come on below 1800 rpm. Either new filter is bad or sensor could be defective. There a two magents is plastic valve that fits on top of filter, when filter is plugged, oil pressure forces filter down and moves magnets away from sensor in filter head. Check to make sure magnets and holder is in good shape.

Could be the pickup on the outside of the filter isnt working,  those used to be spendy.  Seems there was always a little trouble gettin the lite to be off. I dont know if the sender was to sensaitive or the spring that holds the filter up in the canister is to weak.  Good luck.
