Was curious those of you who participate in Natpa pulls:
1. Has the wheelie bar rule for Div I killed attendence?
2. Opinions/ observations on change to 4mph in DIV III. Seems to me this would discourage Div II tractors bumping up and would cut hook $. I suppose the argument was the classes were too similiar.

Hard to have a show or farm use tractor with a wheelie bar.

I agree. But when you have do deal with stupid insurance and are forced to do it... i guess you do it.

Currently we are not required to have wheelie bars until the fast class in our club but I can see this coming in the future. Last pull we had a puller with a Oliver 66 standard which is a very short tractor. He stood it up on takeoff as he has done for the last 15 years and kept on going. Later we had a spectator come over and tell us someone is going to get killed. I'm sure if he called our insurance it would get pulled.

The speed increase from 3.5 to 4.0 MPH is a pretty big deal. It will discourage Div 2 or Div 3 top cuts from competing, because the "big" engines will start to really show their stuff at 4 MPH.

im assuming you mean Div 2 top cut?
assuming a div 3 tractor keeps using the same engine as before the rule change..... Does the momentum gained from .5 mph overide the torque loss from the higher speed? I would guess not... so now everyone will be building more engine lol
seems like this would hurt the orange tractors pulling in the heavier classes since they are limited by the 226 block Im kinda disappointed i guess, just getting started with a div 2 legal tractor and now it seems any hooks at div3 will be for experience only :)

I think the same thing will happen. Better bring a big mule to the nationals. They dont seem to care about $$$ and build them big for sure.
