I got a question on my WD starter switch. It is new on a newly rebuilt starter. The problem is that as I tighten up the nut that holds the battery cable on, the switch is turning inside. Do you just take the two screws off and pull the starter switch off, then turn the nut so it turns the switch so it is right...then put it back on with the two screws ? I think there should be 2 nuts on the post. One should be tight and pull the post into position on the housing, then you connect the cable and tighten the top one.

Yes you will need the second nut to tighten up on the cable. Sounds like your making progress! Mike, I think you should take the switch off to make sure the contact is setting square with the movable contact when the bottom nut is tight. It wouldn't hurt to make sure the stud and contact are insulated from the housing once you have it tight.
