What size is a 7000 Allis engine? A 4 cylinder diesel, turbocharged, looks to be an SAE flywheel housing. Was it used in anything ag?

7000 has a 301 cubic inch 6 cylinder turbocharged engine. A 4 cylinder turbo engine would have been in a 6080 or on a combine.

So, that is a pretty big engine, bigger than a 4-53 Detroit or 4BT Cummins. Several for auction at Ft. Carson.

Very confusing that a company would use the same model number on a tractor and an engine!

Dseries4 you are absolutely correct about it being confusing that an engine manufacturer and a tractor manufacturer uses the same model number. These type of issues arise all the time in the diesel engine rebuilding world and we here at IESC DIESEL, CORP. are here to simplify eveything. We are able to cost effectively facilitate the diesel engine rebuild identification and parts sourcing process which translates to great pricing and customer support for you the tractor/truck owner.   Feel free to post any questions you may have to this thread and I will try my best to have an answer/solution for you as quickly as possible.

I have a 1978 Dodge W200 with a 4 cylinder turbocharged Allis engine from an experimental cotton stripper.  I put about 20000 miles on it.  the engine needs overhauled now, broken rod?, I have not looked inside yet.  What does an
overhaul kit cost?  Or I will sell it for ???
With the 4:10 axles and the 3 speed automatic it will max out at about 61mph @ 2800 rpm.  Bell housing adapter was from Zealand MI and mounting rails were locally built.

I have an HD 344 buda in my Hd6E. I would like to replace it with a 7000 series 344 cubic Inch. Does anyone have information on this swap. The engine blocks look identical. Just different attachments, diesel pump, head, Bellhousing, front engine cover etc. Can anyone help me with this.

I believe it is the 516 buda cut down 2 cylinders.

I always heard the 344 didn't like higher rpm but Dad's HD11 with 516 has been a great dozer and easy on fuel and starts like a dream unlike most Allis engines I've been around.

Might have been the same company, but two totally different divisions. Heck, my brother and I don't always know what the other ones doing, can't imagine it being much better in a big company.
