Coming up on a sale. They say it jumps out of 2nd and 4th gear. They do not have the serial number of the unit but the guy told me it was a 1967 1968 model. Looks pretty straight. What is the good the bad and the ugly of these tractors? It has 23.1-30 rear rubber on it. they said it had been used mostly for hay work in the last 25 years. Thanks for any information

Jumping out of gears is as bad as it gets.  Whatever it sells for, add AT LEAST $2000 for a complete transmission rebuild.  There is no such thing as a cheap fix here.  Keep that in mind when you are bidding.  The rest of the tractor is straight forward and easy to fix.
