If you don't find any close to you there a minonite family called Zimmermans in versailes Missouri. Has a big salvage yard of dozers. etc. DO A SEARCH on the net. He does ship. Not cheap but they seem to know what there talking about. norm

I'm pretty sure the 1942  HD-3 used the same undercarriage as the Model M and should be fairly easily obtained !!  Good luck with Your Rare Crawler !!!

When I bought it I thought M undercarriage would fit but they are very different. The roller shells are same size but the shaft, seals and mounts are different and the front idlers have an internal spring with a yoke connected to idler slides, where the M has external springs to the idler. The owner was in the process of restoring it when he passed away.It was sold at auction and I purchased it from the guy who bought it.By that time a scrapper had cleaned up any metal left at the auction site.

AC did not build very many, and parts sadly will reflect that...  What You have looks great...  Good luck on it..

Is it possible that HD5 parts would interchange? Hope you can find parts you need, as that rare crawler needs to have new life breathed into it. It sure looks good so far. Good Luck! Darrel

There is a place in Idaho called general gear that has lots of crawler parts. I'd sure try them. If you can't find a number for them by go ogling it, let me know, and I'll get it for you. Darrel

Very neat indeed! I wonder how many of them are accounted for? It's disturbing when a scrapper comes in and simply takes "junk" to the scrap yard. There's a good chance the parts needed were in that pile! Having the pieces, even if worn out, can be repaired/saved, but not having any of it will definitely make it a challenge! Thanks for sharing!

+1 on General Gear! They supplied me with a brand new pressure plate for my HD5B. They have several machines they are parting out.
