Having problems with engine losing power after any load is placed on engine. (20 hp briggs & stratton vanguard)  Tractor ran fine last year. Tried to use the mower for the first time this season and when the mower was engaged the engine would stall. Have ajusted the governor and checked the linkages for free movement which helped some. Was able to mow but engine will not provide any extra power when needed. Think the governor is not opening.  Tractor cranks and runs fine just not with any load. All fuel lines have been checked or replaced as well as a new fuel filter and spark plug. Also checked the fuel cap vent and mower deck for any problems . Anyone have any ideas what to check next?  Any ideas are appreciated.    Thanks Craig

Thanks for the tips. Will give the carb an intense cleaning and add some seafoam to the fuel. I will post the results later. Thanks once again.

Changed one of the coils, now everything is back to normal. Tractor runs great.

Thanks for all the help.
